Healing Resources

The road to healing can be a long journey, especially for those who have grieved for years over the loss of an unborn child.  The mission of the Kentucky Memorial for the Unborn is to help heal these wounds by recognizing the loss of a child that was often not recognized by others.  Remembering an unborn baby in a positive way helps bring focus to unresolved grief and allows for closure and healing.

If you or someone you know would like information about grief recovery programs in your local area, please contact us.  Many hospitals have perinatal bereavement counselors and support groups, and churches and crisis pregnancy centers have post-abortive ministries that offer healing Bible study groups.  Some website resources are listed below with links to program listings and locations.

One Day My Tears
May Cease To Fall

One day my tears may cease to fall
for healing comes with time
but today you’ll find me at this wall
to grieve for what was mine

A miracle was in my hands
it seems like yesterday
but for reasons I don’t understand
I saw it slip away

My hopes and dreams, like autumn leaves
fell slowly from the sky
and in their place a heart that grieves
and only wonders why

If a choice could ever be undone
or a day could be replayed
but I know that not a single one
can be altered, once it’s made

So I’ll choose to live this simple prayer
as each new day begins
in God’s strength I’ll get from here to there
‘til that day we meet again

Dedicated to all those who grieve the loss of an unborn child; may we all learn to walk daily in God’s strength.
